Full landscape on newly built home
DLC was tasked with maximizing outdoor living space, while keeping up with city green space ratios and property set backs on this corner lot in the heart of the Pointe-Claire Village.
The clients were looking for a very sleek, modern and minimalistic feel. They wanted a functional landscape that was easy to maintain and maximized for outdoor living despite the tight square footage they had to work with.
We initially did not think we could fit in a pool area but after assessing ideas, we were able to fit in a 10′ x 16′ concrete pool along the back of the house, and we built an IPE wood deck to surround it. Adding glass fencing brought in a modern touch.
Along the side of the house, we built a paver patio area and incorporated garden beds along the inside of the backyard to add more colour to the landscape. A front wrap-around porch was built in IPE wood again and we finished off the walkways and driveway in our exposed aggregate concrete mix.
Using multiple elements, from concrete to pavers, to lumber, then softscape – we truly maximized the outdoor living area and provided a great entertainment space despite the small square footage available to us.
