A backyard makeover to refresh the pool, have more space to entertain and enjoy the beautiful view of the Saint Lawrence River.
Out with the old, in with the new.
The existing Ipe wood deck was not ample enough for entertaining and the existing pool patio was outdated.
Applying the design concept of ‘regulating line’ we used the odd angle of the house to project the lines of the building into the garden and aligned the patio to give a sense of order and harmony to the backyard.
We built a dining and lounging area using Techo-bloc Para Slab to provide a contemporary style. We inserted Rocvale TownHall pavers for their handsome and timeless look. The lounging area is one step down which create a separation and gives a nice and cozy feeling to place. We address the sloping yard issue by adding concrete walls, that we capped with Techo-bloc Raffinato which were also used for pool coping.
In order to tie in with the beautiful stone of the house, we used St-Marc’s stone when building the custom-made fireplace and water feature.
We integrated lighting which is a wonderful way to enhance the backyard look, have more hours of outdoor pleasure and overall security.
A beautiful hot tub was integrated in the Ipe wood deck for easy access.
The large steps and stepping stones direct the gaze to the St. Lawrence River and give access to the waterfront.
We were able to transform this backyard from a dated design into a contemporary and timeless outdooring space.
