Our team preserved some of the large trees and shrubs while incorporating new plantings.
This beautiful waterfront property had been well landscaped at the time the house was built. The layout and functionality of the landscape still worked well for the owners; however, the plantings needed to be refreshed.
The existing garden beds were well designed and some of the mature plant material was in good health. Our team preserved some of the large trees and shrubs while incorporating new plantings. The soil was amended with compost to replenish the beds and ensure that the new plantings would thrive.
The gardens were planted with a mix of perennials and ornamental grasses in large groups to create a visual impact suitable for the size of the property.
The gardens flanking the entrance to the driveway were enlarged and two spruce trees planted adjacent to the brick pillars, adding character to the entrance. 14’ tall Cedar trees were brought to the site and planted as a hedge to create privacy from the neighbors nearby. The mature trees created a wall of green, that screens views from both first and second floor windows.
Large pieces of flagstone were placed in the lawn, creating a pathway to the water access area. A simple re-work of the existing garden beds gave the property a new feel and extended the life of the original landscape.
